New science confirms animals are conscious beings. What does this mean about your food choice?
Podcast Transcript: “A fascinating new study has confirmed that animals have emotions and personalities – which of course means animals have consciousness. We’ve known about this for a long time, talked about this at Natural News repeatedly. Animals have consciousness, which means that they are experiencing their world through their eyes in much the same way that you are. Now, obviously they’re not as intelligent as you are, but intelligence and consciousness are two separate things. They feel present, they sense the now, they have emotions, they have memories, they dream and they have families. So, when we look at the practices of – let’s say big-game hunting or even some of the factory farming practices in our country – when we understand that animals are conscious beings, we really have to say that a lot of those practices are extremely cruel and inhumane in a sense. I’ve even said before that elephants – because they’re highly intelligent, they have very good memories, they have social structure, they are conscious beings – elephants are in some ways more human than many humans today – who have been turned into animals through drugs, pharmaceuticals and vaccine lobotomies or mercury damage to the brains and so on.
